The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of parents of students enrolled in Tuolumne County schools, teachers, school district personnel, and community members. The majority of the members on CAC are parents of children that receive special education services. CAC’s role is defined in the California Education Code 56190 and includes, but is not limited to the following:

• Assisting in parent education
• Supporting activities on behalf of individuals with special needs
• Recommending annual priorities or focus for the Tuolumne County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA)
• Providing input to the Tuolumne County SELPA regarding the development and implementation of the Local Plan.
